MEETINGS
LRC meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. the first Thursday of every month.
The meetings are held on the second floor of St. Peter's Church
Thrift Shop in Libertytown. Use the stairway in back of the Thrift
Shop to access the second floor. Everyone is invited to attend these
meetings to help establish programs and guidelines for the youth
in our community. Your help is needed and appreciated. Listed below
are the dates for the next 3 meetings:

LRC COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS
LRC will once again be offering two (2) scholarships for
2008 in the amount of $1,000.00 to one female and one male graduate
who have been a part of Libertytown Recreation Council's programs.
The scholarship forms will be available in the Guidance Office of
Linganore, Urbana, FSK, and Walkersville High Schools or you can
contact and LRC Officer for a copy. The deadline for submitting
your application is April 15, 2008.

LRC VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
This year's recipient of the LRC Volunteer of the Year is Joe Ganley.
Joe has been the Soccer Commissioner for several years and has always
been available to help with other LRC functions when he was needed.
Please join us in congratulating Joe for this honor.

VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED FOR TWO UPCOMING LRC EVENTS
On Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28, 2007, LRC will once again
be providing the concessions at Frederick County Parks & Rec's
Haunted Tales and Trails that is held at the Old National Pike Park
on 144 between New Market and Mt. Airy from 12:30 p.m. to
4:30 p.m. both days. Help will be needed to set-up, serve, and tear
down each day. If you are interested in helping, please contact
Lori Ferrell at 301-898-5675 or Jim Stockman at 301-831-7927.
Another
opportunity to volunteer is for the year-end Soccer Tournament that
will be held at Libertytown Park on November 3 and 4. If you are
interested in helping with this event, please call Lori Ferrell
at 301-898-5675.
BABE
RUTH BASEBALL
ATTENTION ALL 2007 COACHES AND THOSE WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN COACHING
IN 2008:
You are required to take this ASEP Coaches Certification Course
in order to coach a team starting in 2008. The course is online
at www.BabeRuthCoaching.org. The cost of the course is $19.95. This
certificate is valid for three years.

CHEERLEADING
Michelle Baughman who has been LRC's Cheerleading coach for the
past few years has made the difficult decision to step down as our
Cheerleading coach. She is now assisting LRC in the search for a
new coach for this year's season. If you would like more information
or would like to volunteer to take over the coaching position,
please call Michelle at 410-775-0369. REMEMBER, IF THERE IS NO COACH,
THERE WILL BE NO CHEERLEADING PROGRAM AT LRC.
BASKETBALL
AND CHEERLEADING REGISTRATION AT
LIBERTYTOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAFETERIA
WHEN: Tuesday, September 25; Wednesday, September 26; and Tuesday,
October 2, 2007.
COST: Basketball - U8 - Co-ed (Instructional): $40....
U10 through U19
(boys or girls): $60
Cheerleading - All ages (kindergarten to 4th grade): $50
A
$10 fundraising fee will be charged per family at the time of registration.
A
$10 late fee per child will be assessed after the last scheduled
day of registration.

Last registration forms and payments will be accepted through Jim
Stockman ONLY!
