MEETING
MINUTES FROM AUGUST 5, 2010
Jim reported the season is over. A fall
team, coached by John Blankenship, is being put together. He currently
has 9 players and recruiting more. There is a N.E. meeting on Tuesday,
August 10. Courtney reported that he received the information from
Jim regarding the injury to a player and sent it to the county
in July.

MINUTES FROM JUNE 9, 2010
Roger reported that the season went well.
The 11/12 team made it to the championship game, but lost. The
only trouble in the season was with one game where a coach was
upset with a call an umpire made. Dave Masters was called and was
determined that the umpire made a bad call which ended the season
for one of our teams. Roger thanked Jim for providing the trophies
and medallions. We hosted the 7/8 and 9/10 championships in N.E.
under the lights. An accident report will be filled out and forthcoming
from Courtney in which a boy from the 16/18 team hit the fence
going for an outfield ball and was injured, resulting in 80 stitches
in his face. The all-stars will be starting with 2 - 11/12 yr.
teams; 1 – 9yr. old team; and 2 – 7/8 yr. teams.

MINUTES FROM APRIL 1, 2010
Roger reported that the Sunday travel team tournament did ok last weekend. Roger also reported there was one complaint regarding LRC having practices scheduled on Wednesday, which interferes with Sunday travel team practices. Roger informed that LRC team takes precedent over the travel team. The 9/10 tournament will be the 2nd weekend in July at the park. The 13/15 team now has 12 players. First game is Tuesday, April 6. There will be a coaches meeting on Saturday during work day at the park.

Roger reported the N.E. meeting will

2010
Roger reported he went to the NorthEast
meeting on December 8. Discussion was a Sunday travel league, with
11/12 yr. olds. A 7/8 , 9/10 yr. old team may be formed, depending
on the interest. They will use Mount St. Mary’s for practice
time. Roger would like to have a “coaching clinic” for
parents who don’t know how to coach but show interest. Roger
would like to host a tournament for 7/8 and 9/10 at Libertytown
Park and use our new concession. He will solicit parents to help
work. Roger also reported the 11/12 state tournament will be held
at Utica Park.

MEETING
MINUTES FROM APRIL 2, 2009
Roger reported that the next N.E. meeting
will be on April 7 and that it will be an all coaches meeting where
rules and schedules are handed out. The season starts on April
15. The first week of June will be the tournament games. Roger
asked if he can put some topsoil on the field at the school on
the work day. Courtney gave approval to patch up some ruts in the
grass/field but that was it. Any more work needed permission from
the school. Roger also reported that he and Mike Fink fixed the
doors on the shed and that they are lockable. He couldn’t
do anything about the window, which will end up just having plywood
put on it. Courtney thanked both Roger and Mike for fixing the
doors. Christy asked if there was any property coverage on the
shed, which there isn’t. She will research and find some
quotes to see how much it would cost to cover the shed.

Roger reported the N.E. meeting will
be held on March 10. The Sunday travel teams have been contacted
and tryouts will be at the Mount this weekend. Roger also reported
that he received an email from a representative with the Baltimore
Orioles advertising a birthday special, that kids can go to a game
for free when it’s their birthday. More information on their

MINUTES FROM FEBRUARY 5, 2009
Roger reported that registration was
this past Tuesday night. He also said that Woodsboro will not be
leaving the NE league and Taneytown will be joining it. Emmitsburg
has not yet decided if it will join the NE. Sunday travel teams
are still being discussed. There is an open roster of 15 kids per
team. The age group is 11-12 yrs. old. It is $600/team--$40 per
member on the team. There is a meeting next Tuesday night.

Jim reported that there will be a meeting
next Tuesday night regarding organizations in N.E. and who will
leave N.E. N.E. now has Taneytown and there has been rumor that
Woodsboro may leave N.E. to go to Glade Valley. Woodsboro has not

Jim reported that the regular season is over for both. There will
be 2 teams put together for fall softball. One 15 & Under (possible
may be 2 teams) and one 12 & Under. Practices will begin on
8/17/08 and the first game is the 1st Sunday after Labor Day. There
is a softball clinic at the park from August 11-13

Jim reported the softball season is over and they will be going to
playoffs. Baseball regular season for 12 and Under is over this weekend
and the N.E. tournament starts this Sunday at Libertytown. The in-house
tournament starts next week.

MINUTES FOR MAY 1, 2008
Jim
reported that the season has started. There is no 16/18 team and
there is now only one 13/15 team; the other 13/15 team has been
dismantled. The baseball meeting was held on April 8 and the coaches
were given their schedules and the all star coaches were picked.
Regarding softball, the 11/12 team is trying to play a game at night
under the lights.

Jim reported that practice has started.
The softball coaches in the county have met and they have the rules
and schedules. The baseball coaches will meet this Tuesday and they
will get their rules and schedules. Jim will check to see who still
needs to be certified. Jim asked Courtney to check with a coach
to see if we will have a 16/18 yr. old team—need to know by
April 10.
Donnie reported that he has received only one bill from Liberty
regarding practicing there and asked if Jim or Courtney has received
a bill, which they hadn’t. He also said there are 6 people
from Liberty and 5 people from Woodsboro for the travel team.
Roger reported that the next meeting for N.E. is April 8.

MINUTES FROM MARCH 6, 2008
Jim reported that there are 16 teams—5
softball teams -2 U-8; 1 U-10 and 2 U-12. There are 11 baseball
teams-3- 4/6 yr. olds; 2-7/8 yr. olds; 2-9/10 yr. olds; 1-11/12
yr. olds; 2-13/15 yr. olds. He said there are 6-7 kids signed up
for the 16/18 yr. olds so far. He is waiting for tryouts to be done
at the high school level to see how many more sign up. Practice
begins on March 15. Workday at the Park will be on April 5. Jim
will meet with the coaches this weekend. The Babe Ruth recertification
is in process—the coaches have either finished taking the
course or are just about finished. Babe Ruth will send recertifications
to Brian Klein, President of N.E. Baseball. The recertifications
are good for life. Jim is in the process of completing all the paperwork
for the county.
N.E. BASEBALL
Roger reported that they talked about the kids playing all stars;
scheduling; and field use. Donnie reported that they are trying
to form a travel league for 11/12. There are 5 from Liberty area
and a few from Woodsboro.

Jim reported that 133 kids signed up
for baseball; 49 girls signed up for softball. Jim gave the coaches
the Babe Ruth certification packages so they can get the process
done by March. The assistant coaches will also certify. Pictures
will be May 8 for all the sports (baseball, softball & soccer.)
Donnie reported that the Sunday practices in the Liberty Elementary
gym have picked up for the N.E. 11/12 travel team. There are 5 more
weeks left of practices. The cost is $63 every Sunday. The tentative
season starts on April 2. Jim will let Donnie know when field day
is at the park.
Jim thanked Barb Schatz and Linda Stockman for helping at signups
and Patti Myers for offering her help. Courtney also thanked everyone
else who helped out.

MINUTES FROM DECEMBER 13, 2007
Donny Slaughter will be LRC's representative
for North East baseball. He will coach for LRC this year and has
a warehouse to practice in during the winter. He asked about using
the net for the batting cage at the park to use in the warehouse.
Jim said it was O.K. as long as it was put back before spring practice
and put back the way it was. Donny asked if we could fill in the
bad spots at the Liberty Elementary School on the big field. Courtney
will ask the school whether they will allow us to do this.

Rob Rhodes, who is the President of
4 County, has fall baseball games and no fields with lights. He
asked if they can play on the Park’s fields under the lights.
LRC is fine with it, but Mr. Rhodes needs to call Parks & Rec.
