Attendees: Courtney Nash, LouAnn Nash, Cathy Naill, Jim Stockman, Connie Rankin, Brenda Bruning Secretarys report read and approved. Treasurers report read and approved. The following is a brief statement: Opening Balance $10,317.02 Deposits $ 1,424.00 Subtotal $11,741.02 Expenses $ 6,014.44 Closing Balance $ 5,726.58 Courtney read a statement apologizing to Joe Ganley for him being negligent in not recognizing Joes contribution regarding the LRC t-shirt program and his donation of $250.00 to get this program underway. Courtney will make certain Joe will be recognized as a sponsor on the LRC website. BASKETBALL Jim reported one team made it to the championship game. Jim thanked Jake Cook, who will not be returning as basketball commissioner. We are looking for a new person. Courtney also thanked Jake and wishes him well. CHEERLEADING The girls did not cheer the last championship game. Jim reported that Amanda did a great job and will be returning next year. Courtney would like to thank Amanda for a good season. SOFTBALL Jim reported that there was a meeting on Monday night for all age groups. All LRC coaches were there. First game is April 18. Cathy Naill inquired about a coach requesting to use the Liberty Elementary gym when practices are cancelled due to weather. The coach did not go through LRC. Courtney asked Jim to tell the coach she must go through LRC and not through the principal at Liberty. BASEBALL Roger reported that the Sunday travel team tournament did ok last weekend. Roger also reported there was one complaint regarding LRC having practices scheduled on Wednesday, which interferes with Sunday travel team practices. Roger informed that LRC team takes precedent over the travel team. The 9/10 tournament will be the 2nd weekend in July at the park. The 13/15 team now has 12 players. First game is Tuesday, April 6. There will be a coaches meeting on Saturday during work day at the park. SOCCER Joe Ganley reported the u-8 team has 13 kids. They lost their 1st game. OLD BUSINESS Courtney reported the lease agreement was agreed upon on Thursday, March 25. Some LRC officers toured the concession stand at the park. The keys to concession stand are in a storage box; the coaches will be told the combination of the box to get the keys out. Liberty Elementary will not be taking the old building at the school. Courtney will move the building to the parking lot and put a for sale sign on it. Asking $200 for it and buyer hauls themselves. Courtney received 3 bids to replace fence and move gates. Signature Fence $385; Overlook Fence $477; Frederick Fence $595. Courtney gave bid to Signature and they will be coming before next Friday. Courtney reported shelves were installed in the new building at the school. Courtney called the States Attorneys office. John Berger is in violation of his probation; Mr. Berger was in court today and was sent to jail for 90 days. His probation has been extended to 7/8/2011. Nick Edwards had requested a jury trial and plead guilty. He, also, is in violation of his parole and will be going back to court on April 30 to find out what his sentence is. His probation has been extended to 7/17/2011. An insurance claim has been made for the batting cage that was destroyed by the blizzards. The storage building at the park will be completed the week of April 5. The park and school buildings are keyed alike. Joe made a motion that we accept #1 design for the letterhead with the website address darkened. Roger second; motion passed. Jim made a motion to have 100 letterheads and 100 envelopes printed. Roger second; motion passed. Connie will email letterhead to Jim and Jim will take to the printer. The county grant was sent 2 weeks ago. Cathy asked if there can be a trashcan put by the backstop at the school. Courtney reported the trashcan is at the concession stand. The fire department will pick up the Pepsi and Gatorade coolers. NEW BUSINESS Connie thanked Parks & Rec for lending the bunny suit for the Easter egg hunt. She reported they had a great turnout and day. Courtney thanked Connie for her work in this and asked her to thank the girl scouts. Courtney thanked LouAnn and Cathy for moving all the items back to the concession stand at the park. It will be stocked this weekend. FCPS will be maintaining the field at the school. It will define the edges of the infield and outfield this week. Joe will email Christen to add soccer information on the website. There will be no commentary included. The Health Department permit has been purchased for the concession at the park, which is year-round, and a permit for the school, which are 4 temporary 2-week permits. They begin on April 12. The Association of Rec Council meeting asked that an accident report be kept at the concession stands. If someone gets hurt, it must be reported on paper; Courtney will then forward it to them. Mr. Summers rolled at the school where he drove his truck. He brought dirt and will fill ruts by the fence and will fill with dirt when the building is moved this weekend. Courtney will seed afterwards. Courtney asked Mr. Summers if he can add a gutter downspout to the storage building at the park. After some bartering Summers said he will do it for $225. Roger made a motion for Summers to install gutter/down spout on the storage building at the park. Connie second; motion passed. Roger will get a 5 gallon metal bucket to be used as a grease can for the park. The A-frame sign at the park for signups has been demolished from the blizzards. Next meeting is May 6, 2010.
